Topic: Bad Drivers

Just two days ago, I was driving into Austin, Tx. A driver of a dump truck cut me off and slamed on his brakes,, Yep I hit him with a truck that weights out to 79,890 lbs. he never stopped. I made it to the shoulder and called the cops, while taking the report the cop said to me they found the dump truck 50 miles south of the impact site, no driver was there. Damage to my truck is $15,000 to $20,000 guess who's insurance will have to pay for this.. I will have to go thru a long court battle with the company that owns the dump truck to try to collect this may well put me out of trucking,, this is the first time in my life I feel like doing great harm to another person with intent. thanks for letting me vent.

Damn, that's not good. Was the dump truck being driven by one of their employees, or just some jackass who wanted a dump truck?

I know your legal system is pretty fierce and can cost a lot to go through, but you'll get them for legal costs if you win, right? And I don't see how they're NOT responsible for one of their drivers being a maniac.

Take it easy anyhow. Will your insurance company fix the damage in the meantime, then sue the other wankers for you?

It would seem that the driver of the dump truck was an illegal from Mexico, so I can only go after the company that owns the dump truck. The way they drive down there is very sad they don't care how bad they are behind the wheel.
