Default Things could definitely be worse! The quake could have happened in Auckland,eh!

So a lot of people thought I was crazy to buy a flat in Christchurch what with the earthquakes which have almost been nonstop since September 4th last year, but as with most things in my life these days,I put it in the hands of my higher power to see me right and apart from some pretty bad cracks in my path and driveway, there's nothing so serious that I haven't been able to fix it myself. The power and landline went back on yesterday arvo, but I'm still waiting for the water to start again, which could be a while yet, but I doubt that I'll be taking the Mayor's advice and digging a dunny in my backyard, not when I can get water down at the river to flush the loo. It's unbelievable that a lot of the next generation have gone through their lives just pushing the button and who, having never looked in the cistern, actually have no idea how their toilet works. Being inflicted with the male problem of not always thinking things right through to the end, I've got to wonder, that even though I know I can flush it off my property, it's probably likely that it'll just end up on someone else's, so maybe it's not such a good idea after all eh? It's surprising how much your thinking changes when you have to start thinking about others for a change, eh?
On the bright side I'm still alive,I've got a roof over my head that doesn't leak and I've got a nice, warm, comfortable bed to sleep in,I've got a fridge,a stove and a washing machine and neighbours who look out for me,what more could I possibly need?
