Topic: Hi all, any advise on how to make friends?

Hi all,
I just wanted to say a big Hi to everyone as this is my first time on the site

I have recently moved over to NZ and find myself missing friends from back home. I am really eager to get out and meet new people but am just so unsure of how.

I am currently living down in Dunedin and i really want to join some clubs. I have a had quick google/facebook search but there doesn't seem to be anything of interest. I would love something like a baking/cooking club, book club, sewing, scrapbook etc.

Does anyone know of the best way to go about finding/starting these groups and finding local people who may be interested?
