Topic: 1st post:me,me,me!!

For nearly 20 years,I drifted around the country door-knocking to get commissions to sketch houses and buildings,but my works also included planes,helicopters,airports,cars,motorbikes,yachts ,launches,ships,fishing boats,a couple of fire trucks,a fire station,a waka,a marae,churches,a cathedral,police vehicle,a police station,a couple of p.d centres,a few portraits,rugby stadium,basketball stadium,schools,a couple of hospitals,a landscape or 2 and nearly 200 hotels,some that were drawn again and again,for the new owners,after they'd changed hands.
I've been featured in 16 different newspapers and was 3rd person interviewed by Liz Gunn on the GoodMorning Show when it first started in 1996 out at Avalon Studios.
In fact 1996 was a really busy year for me,because I had just been released from rehab after my first 12 months recovery from alcoholism (17 years now) and one of my sketches got a full paged feature in Aucklands' Country and City Real Estate Guide,then a few months later,a photo and article on page 4 of Wellingtons' Evening Post,followed by articles in both the Christchurch Star and Press and also a 1/2 hour interview on the National Radio.
However,sadly but true,nobody in this country ever remembers anything good about anyone,as they mostly only focus on the negative,going straight to the court page and if I got that much attention,then it follows that I must be REAL BAD!!
I can tell you,in all sincerity,that I have met and forgotten more people in my life,than most of yous are ever going to meet in the whole of yours and if I haven't sketched for someone in EVERY town in this country,there couldn't be enough left to count on both of your hands,that encompassing both the North and South,Waiheke,Kawau and Stewart Islands.
Some of my sketches have been on show in Napier and Wellington and paintings in Invercargill,
Castlecliff,Taumarunui,Tokoroa,Tirau and Claudelands in Hamilton.
My painting genre is modern contempory.
Just like a whole slew of artists before me I expect I'll have to wait until I'm dead before any of those sketches are worth anything.
