Topic: Why drive an ugly car?

So many people drive pig ugly cars, it just makes me sick. When you look at monstrosities like SUVs (Jeep Wrangler excluded), Daewoos and Hyundais, new Nissan Maximas and Primeras, Daihatsus, Subaru WRXs - hell, the list could go forever. Then you have the plain bland cars, and to populate that list, just list most cars on the road, especially Telstars and Coronas.

Yet, for much the same money they can buy Fiat Stilos, any Alpha Romeo, some Renaults, some Peugeots, Audis, SAABs, some Commodores and Falcoons, Jaguars etc. They spend squillions making their houses look nice and wearing nice clothes, yet drive around in a car that has all the individuality and style of a washing machine.

What's with THAT?

lol! i dunno...anythings gotta be better than the nothing i've got. well...not anything...there are some things i'd rather walk than be seen dead in.

I never thought the type of car you drove really mattered.... :IDunno: I don't care what mine looks like, it used to look nice, then I hit someone elses car in the work car park and gave it a bit of a dent and scratch. Now well it looks silly, and noone ever wants to park near me haha!

But I don't look or judge poeple by what car they drive, if they are happy and makes them feel good, then its their money let them waste it however they want to!

I guess I am a closet petrolhead, and the look of a car is important to me. I have also always almost always driven European cars and motorcycles, and the Euros have flair.

well each to their own. My flatmate just brought a new fancy Subaru thing (B4 or something) it means nothing to me, he goes into detail about all the stuff its got. Someone else who knows him asked me about it and what it was my response was "Blue".

Some people just don't care, and other poeple care.

Ah, now there you have the age old female/male thing. Subaru B4s are rocket ships and have more technology than the space shuttle, so are very much a boys car. Their styling is OK, but you can tell it didn't come from one the great Italian design houses.

My car was designed by the Italian Giorgetto Giugiaro which in car terms is like wearing an Armani suit. The average punter on the street can't tell, but when you look in the mirror/look in the garage, YOU know.

If they are made in Italy and have a horse on the logo they do.

ok, now I have to go and find out what has a horse on the logo to see what it is. Cos I got NO idea.

anyway... I thought they only made Ferraris in Red... Red does go faster after all (and can I have a ride?!?! huh huh!)

Most Ferraris are red, but you can get them in other colours.

You may have a ride in my car, which is not a Ferrari. It is extremely fast, but it is a family car with 4 doors

I like nice looking cars. Man there are some horrifically ugly cars out there - one wonders what the hell the designers were thinking.

The new electric cars are pretty ugly but they're good for the environment. There was an email sent out last week at work saying that we're thinking about using these environment-friendly cars for our pool cars.
