Default Ladies night at the pub illegal in New Jersey

    Well, they finally did it.

Some stupid sot has gone and destroyed the happy hunting ground for the socially inept males of New Jersey.

Mr. David R Gillespie, a frequenter of the a bar called the Coastline nightclub, complained that discount drinks for the distaff part of the speceies homo sapien is discrimatory and the civil rights commission agrees.

I belive the nightclub was doing this to entice more males to the club. There is a tendancy in some communities for males to seek out females. We even have that in San Francisco, although, our reputation does not always support that assumption. Since Rose and I have been married for 40 years, I depend on rumor for input of such vital stats.

I also belive it is time to assign more clerical work to the civil rights commission. Obviously, they have far too much spare time.

It is also time for Mr. Gillespie to join AA and learn the fine art of practicing the 13th step on the females in that organization. Might be a lot safer. Alternatively, Mr. Gillespie should learn to Run Like A raging mob from hell wer after him, for they may well be.

A number of pubs in NZ hold discounted drinks for women.

A place on the North Shore of Auckland used to hold Skirt Night - anyone in a skirt got free drinks between the times of 10.00pm and 12.00am. I was studying at Tech at the time and most of the guys in the hostel would borrow our skirts to wear on that night. Hmmm, which reminds me, I never DID get my skirt back from one of the guys.

This reminds me of one time on the consumer advice TV show Watchdog where one week they visited a golf course that would only allow women to play at limited times and only on particular days of the week.
They also had a very strict dress code.

The research team studied the wording of the dress code carefully and determined that if something was not explicitly prohibited that it could be worn.

Jeans, t-shirts, and trainers were amongst the things explicitly prohibited.

Leather mini-shirts and antlers, however, were not.

So... the presenter, a man I may add, played a round of golf in a leather mini-skirt and antlers.

hahaha, thats kinda funny Darkling. good on them.

My brother had this friend who wore a skirt everyday to school. The school didn't have a uniform, and he just wanted to, he kept it up for years.

Classic! I remember when I was at one of NZ's best golf courses (Millbrook Resort in Queenstown) there was a dresscode in the ladies locker room. Shorts could not be a certain height above the knee (and the measurement was there too, can't remember what it was now). Since I was hosting an event there I didn't bother with the rules but I did hear from some of the staff that they're really strict on people who break the dress code rules.

I am just really glad that where I work they are really casual about what we wear. I can wear jeans somedays. Lots of people wear them all the time, but I restrict my jeans wearing to fridays.

    We're ULTRA casual here.

Vodafone prides themselves on being a young, energetic, blah blah blah ...so can wear whatever we want.

    It's brilliant.

Makes sense especially for us in Technology because not many people actually come into our building so we don't really need to dress up for anyone.

We did have a Formal Friday event a few weeks ago and it was really interesting to see all the guys in their suits.
