Default Drilling a hole in your head...

We were watching some documentary on the advances in medical science today.

Several incredibly grotesque scenes occured throughout it, but the one that was probably the most disturbing is the one that follows:

A man is on screen, talking to the interviewer about a procedure that he did on himself. He points to the top of his head, above the forehead, where there is a distinct 'hole' in his 'skull'.

He then explains how, in the late 70s, he drilled through the layers of bone, the drill suddenly moved more freely, so he shut it off and prodded the outer membrane of his brain with it to make sure he was through.

Now, he provides the service to others.

    Why?

    Pray tell, why?

"Autotrepanning" is a sure sign of being nuts, crazy, bonkers, barking, stark raving mad, out of you tree, or otherwise out of your mind. Literally.
