What would you do?

Your travelling north on Christmas Eve would you?

Go SH1 or SH16?

SH1.

Regardless. I'm a SH1 man.

The sparkley one will no doubt suggest SH16.

SH16 all the way ... you avoid Orewa, Waiwera, Dome Valley and Warkworth ... I hate that road. At least SH16 has places to overtake and is nice and scenic and you don't lose the radio station and you get cellphone coverage unlike Dome Valley. SH1 gives me the shits sometimes.

You only just have to go through the last part of Orewa now.

Once they get the Puhoi extension completed it will be sweeeeeeeeeet!

*edit* And...its Motorway all the way to Orewa.

Sooooooooooo OK now I don't know... I think we will probably end up going SH1 cos I like Orewa its pretty... but then again I spose we will asses the traffic situation.

But I'm wondering how you guys work out travelling up north together? you travel separtley? Go up one way and down the other?

If we go to my Gran's place we normally go via SH16 because it's quicker, if we're heading all the way up to Kaitaia then we stick to SH1 (yech). The problem with SH1 is that there are a few places that are really bad for accidents and once there's an accident on THAT road then you're screwed basically. I find a lot more morons tend to travel on SH1.

That's what I was thinking but was too polite to say.

I thought that too after I posted it but he knows I'm not referring to him when I make that statement.

Last time we travelled on that road we had to phone *555 twice to report bad drivers.
