I think there's a level of involvedness in your own doings that you can pass or attain. Once you're doing enough with yourself, life suddenly gets really easy.

i believe that life/universe is as hostile or friendly as we make it to be.

it all comes down to how you are willing to make your life a happy one or a sad existence (btw, i am speaking from experience)

my life is far from ideal at the moment, but i decided i had two choices,
one: sit and whine (did that for a couple of years) about it and do nothing (doing nothing is choosing by the way!!)
two: get up, stop whining and do something to turn my life towards the direction i want it to go. (not easy, i agree, but i have found it works)

I agree with Rogue above there ...

I've gone through a few bumps and scrapes that possibly could have turned me into a basket case.

I've decided that my enjoyment of life is worth more than that and if I let these bad things take over my life then they had won.

I'm now extremely happy and having fun

Having fun is one of the main things I base my life on!!!
