Topic: Whats with the advertising?

I know you want to make money, but whats with the advertising in the posting div? Its annoying!

You pretty much hit the nail on the head - it's about covering NZB's running costs.

For what it's worth, in the several years they have been there, you are the first person (as far as I can remember) that has commented on them.

Presumably other people ignore them, or upgrade to a paid membership to get rid of all advertising entirely.

I think a lot of the new forum software have updated ad blocks. I kinda go ad blind though - it's be interesting to find out how many people really do click these ads... does adsense still work?

As long as it is not too much advertising I have no issues with it all => this site needs to pay for itself somehow.

It does work.. better for some than others..

Some people have all the luck pffft... haha

I is not about luck it is more to do with experience knowing what you doing. Adsense is one of my highest money makers online

Yeah I just suck when it comes to the whole set up of adsense and stuff like that... I have never concentrated much on SEO etc for my own site but am now trying to learn it to have relevent ads show so i can hopefully earn some moola to continue to improve my websites.

if you work hard you can get some descent money from adsense,

That link makes me depressed haha no I am going to start work on concentrating on adsense and my SEO now - and I think it's good that Kall has added the Adverts to this site it is not cheap nor easy to run a website and so getting some extra additional help through advertising money is well and truly understandable.

fully agree websites have to make money, otherwise there is no point running them

I've moved the div to the right-side of the postbit, hopefully that's a bit less annoying.

That is a lot nicer than how it was Kall.

And just because I thought it would be nice - those ads are now only shown to Guests. (The ones in the postbit - the other ones remain, but are not seen by Supporting members. )
