    Default Ranking of posts

    Why is it necessary to rank someone's postings?. It's not something I believe encourages others to post. Its certainly not on any other of the forums I visit. Because someone sees a post as 'unhelpful' doesn't mean to say the content was wrong or others see it the same way. People are entitled to their own view point, it could even stir someone to seeing a different viewpoint in a positive way. It does happen

    Heya Jich,

    Can you please narrow down what you're referring to? I am guessing it's the 'Thumbs Up/Thanks' thing, but could be wrong..

    *edit* If it is.. the intent of that is to cut down on the single-line "thanks" or "i agree" posts by providing a less obtrusive means of telling the person you like their comment.

    I'm refering to the posts that give a totally different opinion to what others are saying. Because its a different viewpoint, that goes against a small majority of opinion, doesn't mean to say its unhelpful or wrong.

    Yes, I agree with Jich. People indeed are have their own opinion - the original posters shouldn't be judged.

    @Kall: I'm pretty sure that'd help.
