I wish I was skilled enough to make a great looking logo for this web site!
What programs does everybody use to create their logo, designs, etc with?

At the moment I use Fireworks and Photoshop..I tried to get my head around Lightwave, but that was insane.Originally Posted by floris
I'm getting really quite annoyed with IEs inability to display transparent PNGs easily..I realise it is possible using a hack, but that requires certain aspects of the image to be defined (its dimensions, from emmory) and that's not simple in some cases.
There is a javascript trick to show PNG correctly in IE
If someone finds the URL , report it here! And I will see if I can implement it into the pro style's next version
I like photoshop too, and I wish I could master 3dmax and lightwave!
have you see the stuff people can do with www.softimage.com - their community/gallery is amazing. Such talented artists.
Flash & fireworks is a good combination to get some nice web images/icons and buttons.![]()

What is the "meaning" behind your logo?
just curious

At the moment, it is a simple Athens-themed NZB.
The other NZB logos represent NZB as an online community.

You know I think its good to have some meaning, people go way overboard sometimes. Our logo at work, has three possible different meanings, more depending on who you talk to.
see if you can guess a meaning or two![]()

If I may say so ... the logo (symbol) is open for many interpretations --- thus, it fails. You know I think its good to have some meaning, people go way overboard sometimes. Our logo at work, has three possible different meanings, more depending on who you talk to.
The only way that it will work is via building a "brand" for it.
ie. people already recognize it as a brand--the key: time, promotion

If *I* may say so, that reasoning itself is flawed.
From looking at that logo, I get CP, the initials of the company. I also see red and black squiggles, which gives the logo a Maori kind of feel. I also see a kind of infinity loop on its side, possibly representing continual power.
A logo or brand will work if the people in its target market see it enough and remember it. It's all in that Brand Love book that guy wrote a few months ago.
For Counties Power, what reason do they have to get people anywhere other than Counties to recognise their logo? None really.

Absolutely correct! That's why I saidA logo or brand will work if the people in its target market see it enough and remember it. It's all in that Brand Love book that guy wrote a few months ago.is a necessity to build a brand.time & promotion

How is pointing out that your reasoning is flawed a bad attitude?Originally Posted by gthelp.com
In the case of Penny's company, their target market is so much of a niche that the logo is relatively unimportant...as in, it doesn't need to be as Globally recognisable as say the Golden Arches or the Nike Swoosh.Originally Posted by gthelp.com
You live in Counties, you need Power...who you gonna call?
The name itself is what people remember.
In the case of this website, the sld is the key, as that is what people have to remember to type in to get here.
This is why, in every logo we have, the nzboards part is clear and easy to see.
The 'Free, FUN and Easy' slogan is a carry-over from a pisstake of another website, who proclaim to be 'free and easy'.
