    That's funny. I am involved with flight catering. They are just copying Pacific Blue's approach. I think Air NZ always has a tendency to overdo everything or offer more complex menus that the public demand. S'pose that comes from running everything by committees.

    The E-cups where you got a disposable cup with sugar sachets and a cookie inside the cup were surprisingly labour intensive (=costly) and put together by teams of up to ten women at Wellington.

    I somehow suspect the workload is increased dramatically for flight attendants now. Remember this stuff has to all fit inside these narrow service carts which get trundled down the aisles. Where do you fit all this variety of choices inside that narrow cart ?

    Qantas used to do something similar offering alcohol et al from one cart.

    In the end it will mean that most people get nothing and a few feed their face which is mean spirited of Air NZ.
