Just more bullshit from Invercargill!

Well excu-use me!I failed to return a library book to the Invercargill Public Library when I moved to Christchurch in January and just yesterday they sent me an email to tell me that I now owe them $53.45 $2.40 of which is unpaid fines for the 3 other books,that 'were' returned.They told me on the phone that the remaining $51.05 is for how much it will cost them to replace the one overdue.
I've never even heard of a general reading book costing so much and this is yet another example of how the Invercargill City Council operate,the money hungry bastards.
Unfortunately with the earthquakes and the breakdown of services here in Christchurch,sending that book back,just wasn't real high on my list of priorities and of course there's been no disruption to their lives down there,who knows if or when our libraries will even be open again?I've been here nearly 3 months now and I can't even get 'registered' for a library card!I could tell you heaps about Invercargill's shortcomings,but I don't have all week to waste doing it and to be frank,when I moved away from there,I thought I left all their crap behind me.
