Blimey, them guys are looking pretty fresh, IF they really did paddle all that way.

They launched their canoe and paddled out past the Golden Gate Bridge, then came in. But that is a tough ride. And their boat is not all that light.
I cannot find the photos from the San Francisco Examiner. The one on the front page was wonderful.
My daughter and grandson went to the landing.

Good on us for raising our profile. I saw a segment on our news about it. I remember when I had a penpal in the US ... he asked me if I wore a grass skirt
It's nice for us to advertise our maori heritage as long as people realise that we have advanced a bit since we wore grass skirts and ate our native birds for dinner.
We even have power now!

Everyone that I have spoken to were very impressed with the art, culture and the representatives.
