Amy Knowles, a 16 year old Canterbury, New Zealand resident, bragged on her Facebook profile about looting after the earthquake.

“Stole Ice creams, got drunk and mished around seeing f***** up shit, earthquakes arent soooo bad.”
She went on: “Haha people give me shit about living in rangiora. F*** you all, i have power, water, and can shit and flush it.”

Amy removed her site after being bombarded with messages from angry Canterbury residents. Her mother, Yvonne Knowles, said her first impulse was to post an online reply on Amy’s Facebook page, reading: “I’m ashamed to call you my daughter.”

Ms. Knowles has reportedly received public disgust and death threats due to her posts.

Fair enough, I say.
