Topic: Queenstown or There-Abouts?

Hey all you out there

My fiancee and I have been thinking about our wedding and we had sort of been toying with the idea of an Island wedding (Fiji, etc) however after researching the cost a bit more it's not really a viable option.

We are now thinking more of a South-Island experience, like Queenstown, but having not been there before (And living in Auckland) we're at a bit of a disadvantage.

We are planning a fact-finding trip in the next few months but if any of you could suggest places to look at, things to do etc we'd appreciate it.

We are into nature-y stuff, we love NZ fauna and we (Well, more him than me but I'm learning!) are into adventure stuff too - go-carts etc.

I've seen some of the other posts have had no answers so please - don't be shy! The more info the better!

Have you thought about some of the resorts in the Marlborough sounds ?

Lots of opportunities for water activities, bushwalks etc. Fly in by floatplane from Picton if you're really keen. Pick a warm time of year.

Another cool place is around Nelson Lakes National Park behind Blenheim.
