Links to other sites that are relevant to the discussion are fine, but promoting your own or somene else’s commercial venture or competing site isn’t.

That's cool.. but surely, don't you agree that using someone else's website to drive traffic to your affiliate link (without providing anything of value prior) is just a little on the spammy side of things?

Hmm, I believe Wingnut may be sincere. I use to help run an old board on proboard with some friends awhile back and I can say I never seen a spammer apologize.

I agree totally. I guess I am just trying to explain why it is that affiliate links are frowned upon...not just here, but most places.

Hey Kall, for the sake of consistency please, on the Classified section someone posted this "Internet Summit For Lazy Kiwis" and it seems like spam to me ?

Why is it acceptable on one site and not the other ?

What is the definition again please ?

If one had a business venture and publicised it would that breach the rule ?
