    Hej!!

I prefer the ham and cheese version too. Although for variety, I might add an egg nd/or onion. Depends who much of a hurry I am in

Ahh, now we're talking yummy foods!

Aioli. It's basically a garlic mayonnaise...add that to the ham and cheese (gotta be gruyere or similar) toasted sandwich.

Also, Herb and Garlic foccacia bread makes a dang fine base.

    I also,

Now for a variation. There is a device (press really) called a "toast tighter".

It is a device that has a round press with a hinge and coming out of the other side of eacj half of the press is a metal extension, to the wodden handles.

Butter two slices of bread, one slice for each side of the press, place them in the press, butter side to the metal. Then place the ham and cheese on one of the slices of bread, close the press, ensuring that the ham and cheese is enclosed by the second slice of bread. There is a small clip on the handles to hold them togeather. Place over burner on the stove. 15 seconds per side and viola. A toast tight.

Kids love replacing the ham and cheese with peanut butter and jelly.

The end result is the outside of the two peices of bread are toast and sealed into a round bun like thing with the inside ingredients sealed.

Bale Handle Shaft Press half Hinge Press half Shaft Handle

When closed the bale holds the handles togeather and the press halves tight, sealing the bread during toasting.

We have a sandwich press which is excellent, you can use any thickness of bread in it, the specialty breads work real well; foccacia and the like.

As for toasties .... sweetcorn and cheese has to be one of my favourites
