    Default A potato dish

I do not know that potatos are eaten in New Zealand. But to fry up some potatos and just when they are finished, remove any excess oil. Then add in a tablespoon (try a smaller amount until you get a feel for just how hot this spice is) of a either SAMBAL OLEK or Hot Garlic sauce. To my taste, the Hot Garlic Sauce is less spicy than the Sambal Olek.

A small amount of either will make the rather mundane potatos more interesting.

Oh.. Potatos. What would my life be without them?

I'll have to try this one ed, many thanks.

    My version:

Boil potatoes for about 7-8 minutes, until they just start to soften.
Quickly pour off boiling water and give them a shake in the pan to bash the outsides a little.
Bake in a 200/400 degree oven for 20 minutes, turn over, then back in till golden brown.

The smashing gives the finished article a crunchy exterior.

Yum, I love garlic! Don't know about that other sauce, though, I don't think I would want to have very spicy potatoes.
