It's a template thing.

I wanted to have the Adsense stuff in the top of the thread, as there don't seem to be many clicks when it is down by Quick Reply (probably because, by that point, people actually just want to enter their message, rather than look at an interesting ad), so I wanted it to be in the top bit...but it can't be in the Nasty Board, cos Google says NO!...so I have to play with conditionals, and it seems that area of the Showthread template is touchy.

What if you had a 'blank' Adsence style banner on the Nasty Board which was not a Google product? Sort of a space saver?

Yeah, that was the idea...but it had proven to be difficult to make the template obey the conditional (if this forum isn't the nasty board, then...).

I think it is working now.
