Don't believe all the good stuff the website says about it, it was a shit little town that had pretty much nothing for us to do when growing up.

Left Kaikohe when school finished (aged 17), it was either leave the town and get a life, or stay there and work in the local supermarket or something and have 3 kids to 2 different fathers etc etc etc.

Moved to Auckland (NZ's biggest city) and started working.

I'm not sure about smelly but it sure is cold there. I go to dancing there once a week and always end up turning the heating up on the car when I hit Papakura!
