Hello,
I am a recent college graduate from the United States.
I plan to be getting a Work Holiday Visa and to move to New Zealand.
I will be moving there in late August. I am very excited. I have read a lot about New Zealand and can not wait until I am there.
I am very excited about the experience and would like to try to make as many connections now before I get there. So that I have friends to visit when I arrive.
I recently got my bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences. I have worked while getting it and have 4 years experience working in Biomedical research. I plan to go to graduate school in the future. Well, I think graduate school, I also have a strong desire to go to medical school.
I would really like to be able to get a position in New Zealand where I would be able to experience interaction with patients on a day to day basis. I know that I want to work in a field where the ultimate goal will have clinical applications, but I want to know if I want to be in the clinic or in the lab.
I want to find a job in medical research. Which is very difficult for me to do from here.
That goal places me in either Auckland or Wellington most likely.
I am a little lost in needing to find a place to live, etc. I obviously don't want to find a place to live in Auckland and then find a position in Wellington.
So, any advice would be great. Any help with connections or contacts of people that could maybe help me, or that are knowledgeable in any medical field would be very helpful.
