How is life in Auckland? I lived there for about 10 years before comming to Melbourne.

Auckland... what can I say? Typical! Sunny in the CBD (For a time, anyways) and precipitating heavily by the time I got home.
Glad it's finally starting to lighten up in the mornings by the time I leave for work!

How is Melbourne? I have many friends there but never been, myself... not yet, anyways

Yep - good old Auckland - 4 seasons in one day!
Auckland is a lot like Sydney (I lived there for 4 months) and Melbourne is like Wellington - really cultural and easy going in comparison.
I've been here for nearly 3 years and sold my house in Auckland at the beginning of this year.
What do you do in Auckland? I was in banking until June just gone when I quit (after 20 odd years) to run my own business.

My partner and I visited Wellington for the first time last year - I really liked the city, the layout, the way you could (And we did) walk the whole thing (Central, at least) in one day... how it was all just so close!

I'm in the offices of the bookstore Borders... know it? Some of my friends work in the Melbourne Central store... I really must come for a visit soon!

Bought our fist home here in the outskirts of Henderson in January (never try negotiate at Christmas - worst time of year to try and buy a house!!!) and the effect still hasn't 100% sunk in yet - we were renting for so long it's a bit of a shock to realise 'oh my god, I own this place... and can smack a hole in the wall here if I want' and it's soooo cool! I'm the only one of my friends to not have kids, to have a stable job and to own my own home... and I'm the baby of the group!

Man... what's that telling me for next year?!!!
