| Hi all, i am moving to Tauranga in August. Working as a doctor in the U.K at present. Just waiting for my immigration to go through. I was born and brought up in India but have been working in U.K for the last 4 years. How is life in NZ ? I have reached a point of no return now that my paperwork is almost through ! Good day to you all again ! | ||||

| Tauranga is an awesome place. Good pubs, people and beaches. | ||||

| Hello Dr. I'm a massage therapist in the U.S. and I'm concidering New Zealand as a possible new home. Can you tell me why you chose to imigrate there? Was it difficult? What are the taxes like?Any info you could share would be helpful. Thanks, Zia | ||||

| Hi Zia, Immigration formalities were not difficult at all. I submitted an online EOI and it was accepted immediately and i received an Invitation to apply in 3 weeks time. I think the job offer just speeded up the entire process. U.K is a lovely country but i am fed up of the new changes in the NHS and was looking forward to moving to a better place with a better lifestyle. Money is not all that important. I believe in'Life is short so make it sweet' philosophy. As far as taxes are concerned the information i have is from colleagues who have worked there before. This may be helpful : Taxable Income (NZ$) Tax Payable (NZ$) 0 - 38,000 19.5% 38,001 - 60,000 $7410+33% of excess over $38,000 60,001 + $14,670+39% of excess over $60,000 I am looking forward to the nice beaches, scuba diving and skiing in NZ. I would definitely recommend NZ as a home ! | ||||

| My Dad lives in Tauranga and it's a great place. It used to be full of old people (no, really, it did) but it has grown a lot bigger and is quite a youthful city now. Mt Maunganui is not far from Tauranga (about 10 minute drive) and has a fabulous cafe culture, not to mention Mt Maunganui beach - which I hear has good surf a lot of the time. | ||||

| I've never actually been to Tauranga myself but everyone that I know that has been there loved it, and you've got many great places nearby that you can visit as well. | ||||

| I have been getting very good feedbacks about Tauranga. I am going to be there in the first week of August. Any idea of how the weather might be ? Well i am told its milder than U.K weather but i am unsure if its going to be wet and rainy or just warm and sunny ! | ||||
