I'm going to periodically visit NZ and other potential places looking for a new home. I'm well educated, professional, athletic type-will I fit in?
I'm fleeing the horrific, ruinous immigration policies of the U.S. How are things from this aspect in NZ (please be honest)? Also how are taxes there? Any other factors to be aware of re: NZ?

Hi,
I am sure US Immigration policy can drive anyone nuts. I was hoping to do my residency in US but the immigration put me off (although i never bothered to apply since even looking through the options can make me go mad) I just want to do the residency there and do the board exams in Internal Medicine! Do you think i could just go on a J1 visa or can i hope to get a H1B from NZ (but i am going to return to NZ and its going to be my permanent home - unless some Tsunami decides to wreck my 'would be home' there in tauranga)
