The pain begins

Ok, so you've all seen Tree's Big Adventure. I am a self-described game dev nut. If it wasn't for my short attention span I'd be making games night and day.
My coding skill has steadily improved over the last year and a half to the point where I can actually start building one rather than just thinking about it.
To this end I thought the cute little world-scroller would make a nifty platform for a new game. And not just any new game - some sort of online shared adventure game. MMOG stylez.
The whole online bit is darn easy, I just have to finish moving everything from a failed attempt at prototyping into classes. Then it will all work. You'll see. When I finally get my head around classes in Flash and all their oddball requirements (like being stored outside of the movie) I'll be able to start whacking in all sorts of cool things.
I currently have a tree that maintains it's position on the terrain. Yay! Was that a trig nightmare or what? I fucking hate trig, but the suffering is nearly over.
