It seemed like the cautious first steps in a turn of trend for the beleaguered New Zealand dollar last week as a huge jump in building permits and a positive shift in business confidence finally gave traders a reason to bid the currency. The coming week should be a quieter one for the kiwi as markets begin to stabilize in the absence of meaningful economic releases out of New Zealand.
