Default Xtra goes down - No internet for 80 thousand...

Are you an Xtra customer?

Were you grossly pissed off by the fact that the internet was unavailable on the night of May 16, 2006?

I came home, tried to log onto things, and found that only my email worked, sporadically.

I can't find an apology anywhere on their site, nor any offer of a refund.

Ihug is looking pretty sweet right about now.

Who are you with? What are their rates? Someone has to be better than Xtra.

Hey guys,
We're with Ihug and have broadband and Ihug tolls as well. We only really use Telescum for the use of the phone line.

We pay $49.95 a month for Ihug BB but 'cos we have tolls with them as well we get $10 off. I'm not sure of the Data cap, but the plans have all been changing... why don't you check out the website?

I'm with xtra as well and wasn't too impressed when the service went down. Also seems that the help line, if you tried to call it would either ring for ages or kept you on hold for ages because of all the people trying to find out what was going on. Their service needs a good kick up the bum sometimes.

Has anyone found out if Xtra have a customer help line.

Perhaps they may care to invest some money in staff that know what the web is.
Xtra's idea of customer service is "We have your money now bugger off and don't call us!"
The recorded message is good "Sorry but due to too many idiots not being able to connect to the web they are calling us for advice, our advice is to get a reliable service provider!"

Then they want to compensate you with a dollar or two because you were off line..
They say they don't have to supply the web just phone connection? I was wondering why they call themselves an "ISP" I thought that meant they were an "Internet service provider." but they don't supply a service..

Heh I know how you guys feel. My previous ISP would always have Internet connectivity problems, they even forgot to charge me for a year - that's how shockingly bad the company were!

That refund they have offered is an insult! I'd switch to another company, and refuse to pay any more bills that may be outstanding!

And done! New ISP is go.

Telecon - The Telecom Spoof Ad for an amusing look at the company who ruins the old ISP.

No, that was not a typo. They dont run it, they ruin it.
