Most of us will agree that if Bush is reelected the world will be a worse place. Only problem is the people voting for him are Americans. A quote I found today:

When asked why American voters are nearly equally divided in their support for Bush and Kerry less than a week from election day, Pulizer prize winning journalist Seymour Hersh just shakes his head.

"There are 70 million Americans who don't believe in evolution. Bush is playing to that core," Hersh said. "And can you imagine what the rest of the world is going to think if we re-elect this man?"

That's nearly 1/4 of America - can you imagine 1 million New Zealanders who believe in creation ahead of evolution? See how Bush can get re-elected?

Yeah I can see Bush could quite easily be re-elected. We can sit in hope that it wont happen, BUT it is a very real possibility. But as you said in another thread, he just does what he is told, and therefore someone else could be just as bad.

The other thing is, is that perhaps it is worth while letting him have his next few years, hope he doesn't fuck up too much and then rest in the knowledge that after his 2nd term he can't ever be president again. (I hope thats the ruling, 2 terms in office) becuase you see even if he looses this time, he has 4 years(?) to plan his come back and could easily get in again (I think? man I am not that good at American politics).

Yeah, sad as it is to say, America has a great influence on what goes on elsewhere in the world, and religion has a great hold on America.

A nice example is the complete banning of Stem Cell research, because, apparently, God finds the possible creation of something that could cure just about anything to be offensive.

Perfectly okay to kill tens of thousands of people on the other side of the world, they're heathens. Heathens don't count.

There is a scale of value for people - Wealthy Americans are worth 10 points, Israels are 9 points, wealthy American allies who are white are worth 8 points, poor AMericans are worth 7 points, poor brown or black Amerticans are 6 points, native americans are 5 points, poor American allies are 5 points, poor neutrals are 4 points and muslims who aren't allies are worth .00001 point.
