A consultancy agency with government and police connections was running an exercise for an unnamed company that revolved around the London Underground being bombed at the exact same times and locations as happened in real life on the morning of July 7th.

On a BBC Radio 5 interview that aired on the evening of the 7th, the host interviewed Peter Power, Managing Director of Visor Consultants, which bills itself as a 'crisis management' advice company, better known to you and I as a PR firm.

Peter Power was a former Scotland Yard official, working at one time with the Anti Terrorist Branch.

Power told the host that at the exact same time that the London bombings were taking place, his company was running a 1,000 person strong exercise which drilled the London Underground being bombed at the exact same locations, at the exact same times, as happened in real life.

And then to top it all off, I get an email from an ex girlfriend about her sister (working in the banking industry in London).

Tania (my sister) was on the train that got bombed and yes she was very lucky to get out with just a few bruses. She had to take a weekend in Italy to get over it shes back in England now and taking each day as it comes. She keeps going on about her shoes breaking but I think shes using that as a way of not dwelling on what she went through. She had to walk over bits and pieces of people to get out of the subway and I dont care what she says, that has gotta get to ya.

Life is precious but we need to live it and not be afraid of what might be around the next corner.

The bomb on the bus was meant for the Northern Line but the bomber couldn't carry out his plan so got on a bus instead.

I regularly use a Northern Line station and, ever since that dreadful morning, there appears always to have been 2 police officers on duty outside the station.

People nod or say good morning to them as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

From an email I received tonight from pommie friend and her German hubby

Second attempted bombing..seems they're out to get London this month, but they can go screw themselves. This time they have left a wealth of forensic evidence behind and of course, eye witnesses and CCTV footage. Generally the mood here is a little more paranoid than usual but at the same time defiant. Just very careful to say a proper goodbye to Martin in the morning..!

I suppose if you end up living your life in fear then you are not truely living and the dickheads/terrorists win.

I'm planning a trip to the UK/Sri Lanka in January for my cousin's wedding.

A friend of mine at work asked me 'but aren't you scared now with all that's been going on?'
I thought about it and replied 'I would rather die doing something I loved with people I love, rather than sitting here dreaming about doing it for the next 20 years'.
