Last week, TV3 showed a story about 'the Dangers of File Sharing'.

In it, a man described how, when he was looking for music, he inadvertantly downloaded 'what appeared to be' a snuff video.

TV3 showed a couple of seconds of the clip.

A woman, sitting in a chair, is saying something to the effect of 'Oh, God! No! Don't!', as an arm holding a revolver comes from the right, towards her.

That was it.

People have written to the Broadcasting Standards Authority, complaining that it was offensive. TV3 has admitted it made an Error of Judgement.

I can't understand.. the clip was fake. TV3 didn't even show the bit where the gun is fired, didn't even have the sound of the bang.. nothing.

The clip in question is very fake. We dissected it with Adobe Premiere one day, years ago. A small black thing does come out of the gun, but it ricchochets entirely from her forehead, and 'blood' explodes on the wall a frame or so later.

Given that a 45 inch round would actually split a head apart, the result of her just slumping forward was pretty much the clincher.
