I'd like to donate, but just giving a little bit of money seems useless. I'd like to do somethign more I think, but I don't know what.

I see that the Thai government has asked for people not to send them money but for people to send more support to their country for the cleanup. That is good of them I think. It's quite amazing to see Aussie, NZ and the US forces getting in their and helping while all the other countries are just sending cash.

I see NZ has donated $16 million so far. I asume that inclues the $10 million that the government is sending, so $6 million as donations, not bad for a wee country our size really.

Micheal Schumacher (the Formula 1 driver) has donated $10m as well. Good on him I say! I think perhaps a few celebrities around the globe could spare a few million instead of buying themselves another home they only use once a year.

I think the speilberg family made a large donation too. I heard them saying on the radio today that they normally do it annomously but choose not to this time to hope that some others come out and also donate.

hehe, how much of that is government help and how much is donations from Joe Bloggs on the street?

We had a case here on the news last night where someone stole a tin of money from the butchers shop that had een collecting money for the effort, I thought that was pretty horrible.
