| A small community faced the horror of road death today when a 7 year old driving a farmbike (as far as I know my road code, illegally) on a public road, with his brother as pinion passenger, rounded a blind corner and was hit by a Ute. The ute was driven by the boys' father. The parents had allegedly told the boys not to drive the bike on the road, but the fact is, they had access to it, and did it anyway. Ultimately, where does the blame lie? With the parents? With the Father? With the community? | ||||

| That was so sad, and such a shock to find out the dad was the driver of the other vehicle. What kind of road was it? A public one or somebodys driveway? If it was a public one, the kids should have never been allowed to drive their motorbike on it, and the parents should be found negligent. | ||||

| An extremely sad story. Who was watching the kids though? They were aged 7 and 5 ... who was watching them? Dad wasn't coz he was out on the road. So where was Mum? I have two nieces aged 8 and 5 and there's always someone keeping an eye on them. The two boys were told not to go on the road. Where was Mum when they jumped on the bike and headed out on the road? | ||||

| Children who are bred on a farm can drive a vehicle at a very young age, but the children i know have always been under the supervision of an adult. However we cannot always be there, children donot always listen either. So the question should be is it right for us to teach our children to drive. | ||||

| As I am off a farm as well, I do not believe in the complete blame falling on the parents shoulders as all those with kids well know, it only takes a couple of seconds for children to disappear! The children obviously knew how to ride the motorbike. I just really feel for the father and believe that he will suffer enough knowing that he was in charge of the vehicle that killed his two sons! | ||||
