Default SIS Bugging Maori Politicians?

Apparently Tariana Turia's phone was 'interfered with'.

When talking on the phone, she noticed that her words were coming out of a radio in the other room.

She had this tested by a security/electronics type person, and it was confirmed that the phone had been tampered with, but it was by no means 'an expert job'.

Her claim is that she is being spied on by the Labour Government, by the SIS.

Now, my question is this: If it was indeed the SIS bugging her phone, why the hell did they use an unshielded device that could be picked up by a household radio?

Are we that behind the rest of the world that we basically [s]sellotape[/s] sticky tape a walkie talkie under a desk and wait for the 'bug' to work?

Did she also check to see if there was a guy in the next room with a glass against the wall?

Believe me it sounds dubious.

The people who work for the government in those areas are very good.

And you do have to think who watches who?

I would drop my opinion in here that she is paranoid alright. There are much more important fish to be looking at in NZ.
