The Pope passed away this morning, NZ time.

Though I am not religious myself, I give my respect to the man. He devoted himself to something his entire life, all the way to the end.

Death is not a transition between your current life and your next life, it will be the end of everything that is you. It's a scary thought, but after reflecting on it for a while, you will realize something - atheists may value and respect life more than religious types, such as Christians. Why? The Christian believes that his death is a beginning, not an end. The atheist recognizes death for what it is - oblivion. We only have a brief time on this planet, we must cherish it while we have it.

I wonder if this will trigger reactions. In any case, I believe eveyone has the right to believe in whatever he or she wishes, as long as you do no harm to other humans and animals

Exactly..I'm also an athiest, but I follow the 'how you believe you will end up is how you will end up' theory.

ie: I will be ashes that will hopefully nourish a tree or something.

The Pope is in some reeeeally flash chair in Heaven, with all the other popes...doing fun pope stuff.
