The US space agency's Mercury Messenger probe, which will conduct a detailed investigation of the first planet from the Sun, is getting ready for lift-off.

Dam those yankies are smart.

Sending a probe to the hottest planet in the solar system but rather than putting extra heat protection stuff on it they are sending it in winter.

Now that is lateral thinking

One thing to do with APOD is to go to the bottom of the page, down in the credits and find Nimeroff (one of the founders) Click his name, which is also a link to articles he has done and check his fiction articles.
