| Lately i've been watching the adds on tv where there is a "twin" or mirror image of the person where one is drunk and the other is telling them not to do something stupid. These adds have been runing for a while and there have been different ones. The issue I have with these adds is the end slogan which states, "It's not the drink, it's how we are dinking." If it's not the drink, then how we are drinking it has nothing to with it. The drink has everything to do with the issue or alcoholism. Some people who have to have a drink or act a certain way when they have had a drink are the people who shouldn't drink. This add seems to be targeting everyone and not everyone is an alcoholic. Maybe i'm reading too much into it but I feel by saying it's not the drink, they are trying to say it's something else that is the cause. | ||||

| it is in a sense of how we drink some cant handle it, and the likes of young ones getting there hands on the stuff | ||||

| True but it is the drink as well. I like to have a few drinks everynow and then. It should say that it is the drink but the person who's drinking it. | ||||

| If it was not for the drink, then we wouldn't have to worry about how we are drinking it. Coming from a 'Scarfie' city, {and being a supporter of club rugby} I know so many people who just go out every weekend and get trashed, and most of them are not that young either. | ||||

| Exactly. I love to have a few drink now and then, but it's the people who have to go and get drunk to have a good time every weekend. The add campaign is sending the wrong image out. | ||||

| I think the ad is just targetting those people who do get out of control when they drink. It's certainly not targetting those who can handle their drink and are happy to stop before they get out of control. I think they're a bit lame but certainly true for some people. Back in the day I used to drink to get excessively drunk - it's just what we did, now I don't like the feeling of being out of control and I certainly don't like hangovers so I don't drink to excess any more. As you get older it takes a hell of a lot longer time to get rid of a hangover too. I used to be able to go out and drink every Friday and Saturday night, now if I drink excessively on a Friday night I have to spend the entire Saturday suffering for it. It's not pleasant at all really! | ||||

| This one time.. at band camp.. My Aunt and her kids came over from Aussie, meeting me for the first time since I was 3. My cousin was generously plying me with beers so I would sing kareoke with her. Things kind of turn grey around my blasting rendition of Enter Sandman, until I appear at Sparklechick's door somehow bone dry in the middle of a thunderstorm. Since then, drinking has been somewhat less than high on my priority list. ![]() | ||||
