| Then we have an agreement. If there were a way to be certain that they would not be free to commit again ................ Oh, well. There is no hope for that occuring. During the Katrina disaster, several thousand registered sex offenders fled New Orleans and have not been heard from. My prediction is that they will begin to show up in the court system. Like the curse of night of the living dead lose upon the US. To quote dubya, "You did a good job Brownie". To quote me. NOT! | ||||

| This reply is both a bit off topic .... and not. Recently, there was an execution in San Quintin. That is the big state facility across the bay from San Francisco. The guy had been nominated for a Nobel. Seems once he was in, and had a date with the grim one, he wrote childrens books warning of the dangers of gangs and drugs. Bravo for him. What got him there was the execution style killing of 4 people, not in the drug or gang scene. He was also the cofounder of the Crypts - a black gang that he founded in Los Angeles and has now spred across the US. Their thing is drugs. So everyone came to protest. Some saying "kill him", some saying give him life in prison. They gave him the needle. Next up was a guy who had been given life in prison and THEN he ordered the murder - from jail - of three people. There were a few protesters. No news cameras. So the rent a rant group stayed home. He was blind and deaf. Bad heart lungs and kidneys. In his 80s. But he is the greatest argument against life in prison for some folks. They tried that and it just did not work. I do not have an answer. But I do know that drugs have ripped society very badly. | ||||

| hi all. to me it was personal crusade. my son was a cocaine addict. and it was heart braking to see him waste himself. at the time the bikie gangs were peddling, all sorts of stuff. and he was mixed up with them. at that time his mum and i had seperated so i felt that was the problem. so went about patching it up with him. he is now not on them. that dosent mean he is drug free he could start up any time. .and there are plenty of sources to get them. i was working at the city mission as a volinteer and i sat in on the drug related sessions the director new my son that is why i joined. i trained as a counciler for 6-7 months and tho i wasent a fully trained counciler i learned to look for the sign of recovery if any for many addicts the reason they take to drugs are many and varried abuse. sexual abuse.family problems heaos of reasons in my case marriage seperation. there is always a reason in 96 percent of the cases and pushers take advantage of this of course those drugs are. long past the it drug now is P so you can understand why i voted yes in the poll because it affected me personally before that i was a pacifist so personal reasons governs our discisions this is a good discussion because we are talking about it. and not trying to hide it under the carpet yes it is healthy to talk marty | |||

| I think most people know, that when you go to certain countries, smuggling drugs, that they will give a death penalty. They did the crime, now they must pay the price ... | ||||

| That's really sad to hear. You think that in this day in age people would've evolved past being savages. Though his crime is wrong, that's not the right punishment. There are people who do far worse things and get way less. | ||||
