Mmmm...bakeries.

Some good, others...not so good.

Among the ones in my Good list: Mt Eden Bakery (Not the one in the Village, the one towards town further, by Eden's).

The one in the Village is Not so good. This is the Green one near De Post.

There is a bakery in Glen Eden that does the most devine feta and spinach quiche.

There is a bakery somewhere along Mt Eden Rd, it may have turned into a different road. Dang, I can't remember where it is ... Kall may be able to help me out there. Anyhow - I DON'T recommend it. I got a steak and cheese pie from there and the experience wasn't pleasant. Fortunately for me I was picking bits out of it when I discovered what could only have been one of the cow's vital organs sitting in my pie. If I hadn't been picking I would have eaten it!!! Ewwwwww ... It was pretty sickening stuff.

A good bakery that does great steak and mushroom pies is Early Bird Bakery on Ponsonby Rd.

Well..It was right down the other end of Mt Eden road, so it may have turned into Manukau or Mt Smart or whatever the hell.

Suffice it to say, if you miss the Mt Eden Bakery, there isn't another good one for frikkin miles.

hmmm I know (knew) of a good bakery at 5 Cross Roads in Hamilton.

They had Steak pies that actually had steak in them (shock horror :P)

We have a good one here in Turangi but the price is steep may as well buy a cow

We have a good bakery here (yes out in the wops) but my favourite (Apart from Golden Crumb in Kaitaia circa 5-8 years ago) would have to be Hollywood in the Atrium.

The prices are out of this world! I can get a decent sized quiche and a crossiant for $4!
They sell fruit and drinks and all kinds of meaty things too, and sammies and cakes and the staff are always sooo lovely. Check it out, it's worth it

For $4 a day it's almost cheaper to buy lunch than bring it in
However, I don't know about the coffee, I've never tried it but I'm sure it's better than BBs!
