First off I would like to thank everyone here who posted about taking pictures of Maori.
My wife and I just got back from
NZ on Tuesday. We had the most amazing time. my wife has had a penpal from
NZ for the past 30 years and they had never met. And I have always wanted to come to
NZ for a vist.
My wife has Alopecia Univeralis which is total hair loss over the entire body.
When we arrived in Auckland we met up with one of her friends from the Alopecia support group. And later that evening we had dinner with about 4 other families that belong to the site. My wifes penpal Lily also made it to the dinner. We stayed at their house while we were in
NZ. After dinner we made our way to Hamiliton to spend the night. Woke up to a beautiful sunrise and sheep in the backyard.
Next we were on our way to Flaxmere in the Hawk's Bay area. We took a ton of pictures on the drive there. With a stop in Taupo for lunch.
We did some shopping, visited Lilys workplace and my wife got another tattoo on her head. We were invited over to the neighbors one of the nights. They had a huge collection of Danish items because he was origanilly from Denmark. We chatted for hours until early into the next morning.
We headed off to Napier to see a band do a tribute to Roy Orbison. The band was really good and it was a good time with new friends.
Then finally our time was coming to an end. So my wife and I decided that we wanted to get a present for Lily and her family. They had done so much for us. We stayed the whole time at their house. They cooked for us.
So as we were trying to decide, we found out that the BBQ that they had been cooking on was borrowed from a friend. So we told Lily and her family that we wanted to give them a new BBQ as a gift from us. So the nextday we went and gave them their new gift.
All in all it was the best trip I have ever had. We are heavily thinking about moving to
NZ now.
