I'm not sure about any Norse exploration, I will snoop around a bit, does sound interesting...

For the most part, the people here are close...Majority of the families have been here generations and never leave...So for somebody new like me moving in, i'll forever be an outsider...Not a homegrown Tomah guy...LOL

Most are hard working, but you do have the younger generations creeping in, that, well, realy don't want to do much of anything...

The people are nice for the most part, something that took me a long time to adjust to...Being from Chicago, when a strangers nice to you, ya better look out and watch your back!!! Here it's different, i'm glad, I have 2 daughters age's 3 and almost 2, to raise and i'd much rather do it here, than in Chicago...

Wisconsin isnt so bad. Once you start a family, it nice. But I wouldnt want to be a teenager there.

There is a point!

My son had a friend in Hemingford, Nebraska. At the best, it is "remote". Remember the movie "Children of the Corn". It was made there. A hot Saturday night was going downtown, and driving the two blocks on the main drag, girls flirting with boys, and vis a vis.

Nice safe place to raise kids. But to be a teen was not a good deal.
