I can see that most of you guys wont be into watching an dfollowing NZ Idol. I myself hadn't been. Had someone over who had been watching it, and they turned on the telly. I decided if you only needed one reason to watch it this is it. Who cares if he can sing or not!

I personally prefer Michael but not because of his looks *stares lovingly at Kall* ... but because of his singing ability and the fact that he seems to really enjoy himself on the stage.

Ben comes across as a bit of a phoney in my opinion.

Pop Idol, as it is called here, is cool fun, we had Simon Cowell first and he still comes back when he's not filming American Idol, he's fab. The show is good fun, I love watching idiots with no voice whatsoever who really believe they have something!

I really enjoyed American Idol here the first two seasons but it hasn't been nearly as good this third season.

World Idol was very interesting tho.

Is this the first season you guys have had NZ Idol? I can't find anything online for it?

Yeah, first time we have had it...I went to the mall one day for a birthday present for Sparklechick and walked straight into the huge mass of people gathered around the final 6.

Ben isn't really my cup of tea.

I watched the American Idol (the one where big Dave won) and Australian Idol (the one where Affro boy won) but missed World Idol.

The prelim screen is done by two guys. One black (race for reference only, since I do not recall the names) and one white (British? maybe). The black guy is cool. The white guy is a sarchastic, perhaps very talented person.

But not really sarchastic, more like mean. Nasty.

I could never do their job.

Big Dave? Wrong idol I think. American Idol Season One was won by Kelly Clarkson (girl) and last season by a big black guy named Reuben... with runner up Clay Aiken (who is actually doing a bit better on the charts than Reuben).

The judges on American Idol are Simon Cowell (the same guy from the UK Pop Idol), Randy Jackson (the black guy) and Paula Abdul.

Oh yes, that's right, I mean Reuben ... we had a guy on NZ Idol called Big Dave who was quite similar to Reuben.

A few weeks ago the woman was not there for the part I saw, but that could have been the prelims. Probably was.

I am not a regular.. I have seen maybe 2 or 3.

I was a little shocked actaully! I asked all my brownies tonight (yep I'm a brownie leader) and they all said Michael and so I thought gosh, Bens not got a chance, so it must have been close....

I think Ben got the sympathy vote - he works with disabled kids apparently.

The NZIdol song is just utter utter crap though. I'm going to avoid turning on the radio for a few months I think.

I thought they might have choosen a song that was a bit more up beat. But its not that bad.

I don't think he got the sympthy vote, I think maybe it was all these other people not wanting the tenny boppers to win.. oh yeah and he got the hot vote

I think we'll have to agree to disagree there! I didn't like his voice that much, too mainstream MoreFM type sounding, but that's just *my* personal preference.

The song is sooooooo boring ... it definitely needs more life. It's going to drive me nuts hearing it everywhere I go ....

LOL, ok then, maybe the difference is becuase I actaully listen to More FM hahaha. I once tried to change radio stations, and I went all the way round and found one I liked, it was MoreFM again!

We were forced to listen to that at work, until I spoke up at a team meeting and said if I have to hear the lipstick lunch with Lana Coc-Kroft one more time I would have to throw it out the window.

So we got Classic Hits. Ahh well, that's better.

(Aside: I reckon both Ben and Michael wil do well from this, even tho Michael didn't win, he did have a lot of supporters, and probably has a few offers coming in today.)

I think the main attraction with more fm is I like to have a laugh, and so on the way home I listen to Brent and Lance, and I spose their humor appeals to me. The music is just a bonus, if I wanted to listen to a particular style I spose I would just put on a CD of my choice.
