Network Card for laptop (geeze I gotta get my lingo sorted).

I just rung Dick Smiths and they got noone, and theres none in no other store, the other local computer geek company doesn't have any, Big Byte don't have any.

I don't get it.

I think thats what I meant I just can never remember what it is. I rung like 4 stores and noone had them. My friend ended up borrowing this USB one that only kind of works, but its ok she brought this other coputer, all she needs now is a monitor!

WELL Dick Smith you can walk down the road to and we have a work account there... sometimes "expensive" and "supermarkety" is ok, for the sake of convinience.

As for Ascent, they use them at work for all their computer gear, and when I was buying these IPAQ's recently found we get no discount for all our business etc, AND they were more expensive than anywhere else.

Which brings me to this point, that we had a relaly good arrangement at work for all the computer parts from this place, we got a good discount and everything. New boss comes in and wants to put his mark on the place and essentially destroys the relationship with 1st said company, and goes to find "a better deal" now we have the situation where we don't get any discount and the service is worse etc etc. seems stupid to me!

Ascent is the 'business' option and PCTronix is the 'cheap and friendly' option. I have a good relationship with the PCTronix guys (they sponsored the freestyle event we held and provided prizes) and they're always full of useful advice. I pretty much go to PCTronix for everything because they're such nice guys. Ascent is occasionally cheaper and occasionally more expensive, but they'll undercut Dick Smiths most of the time while being better about warranty support.
