My son bought a truck on the internet.

It is a picckup. 8 foot bed with crew cabin Ram charger. 1985.

If it is not going down hill, it backfires.

So we got a new carberator and now it does not backfire. He and Brian, my grandkids dad, and Eddie are on an oddesy from San Francisco to Kansas City, Missouri. Today they stopped in Denver, tonight on to Kansas City.

Eddie will be back on July 4. The trip should be good for one heck of a "What I did last summer" story.

Brian will be back at Microsoft (he is a Linux sys admin - odd).

By tommorow morning they will be home in KC. That is where David lives.

I mention it since it is such a long trip.

That is the kind of pickup truck that petrol head kiwis dream of... and to make things worse your son probably only paid US$10k for it... where we would be paying probably NZ$50k for it.

He got it through eBay. Sight unseen. IMO very foolish.

Again, I do not know the price. If it was more than 2K, robbery occured.

I think the next thing it needs are new rings and maybe an engine overhaul.

There is no way the machine could have passed the smog control check for which the guy had current paper.

Buy a truck through ebay... I don't think I'd do that. The again I am not sure I would be buying a truck in the first place.

He is A+ certified. And is working as s supervisor of a pc assembly line.

Totally clueless about trucks, cars, ox carts. Got a wheel, no one home.

I don't think I'd buy anything worth more than $100 on ebay. You never know if the people are rip-off artists or not.

I just stick to things like DVD's, jigsaw puzzles and the like.

1800 miles. Avg one total failure of the truck for every 600 miles. And that after a new carberator.

Oh well. Tommorow Briall, Mo and I start basic electricity. Ohms law and series circuits are first.
