Default Tommorow Eddie turns 14

What were you doing when you were 14?

I played football on the B team at my high school because they had showers in the Gym.

We won every game that year. I was not a starter. The coach would put me in at the end of the game. Last 2 minutes.

I boxed that year. Three fights. I was always there at the end when they raised the other guys hand. They were just better. Not tougher. Just better.

I took Algebra from Flora Shyrock. Only teacher I ever had that could bounce an eraser off a kids head, 10 seats from the front row. And with a curve - yet. She had been teaching for 50 years. She went on another 10 years, retired and lived to almost a hundred. God, I loved that woman. She was to me what every teacher should be. She taught. And she knew her subject: Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, and Trig. I missed the last three from her.

I turned 15 on a boat to Germany, for a three year stay.

Gosh, When I was 14 i was being a teenage girl. Crushes on guys I could never have, My friend and I used to have sleep overs at each others houses almost every weekend.

I was playing hockey in school, and Mum and Dad had been separated for 1 year and so I was still dealing with that really. Not dealing with Dad and Mum being separated, but with Mums attitude towards Dad etc.

Not doing my homework when I should and having to do it on the bus on the way to school.

Thats basically it.

Hmm..

That would have been [s]2002[/s] oops... 1992.

I would have been in 5th form at College, learning all about stuff..including Economics and German. It was the following year, when the school got an actual German person to teach, that I gave up the study of the language.

I was in 4th form at High School when I was 14. Doing pretty much the same thing as Penny. Ogling after boys who I would never get ...

I played hockey for the 1st XI team.

I went to ballet classes twice a week and jazz classes once a week in Kerikeri (about 20 minute drive from Kaikohe).

My Dad left my Mum when I was 14 and my Mum had a bit of a breakdown so my brother and I went and lived with friends for a while until Mum was better. At the time we found it rather exciting until I saw the state my Mother was in. Not a very nice thing for a child to see.

Ooh, I danced with the Royal NZ Ballet Company when they did their production of Coppelia in Whangarei. We had to audition and I was one of the lucky ones to get chosen for their corps de ballet. That was rather exciting ... I was slightly bummed though because it meant missing out on being in the School Production which was Grease that year, my Mum said I couldn't do both so I chose to dance with the NZ ballet company.

The classes I took ... hmmm, all the usual stuff I think ... I'm not sure if we could choose subjects in 4th form could we? Anyhow, I took stuff like Economics, Accounting, Typing, English, Maths ... wasn't really into Home Ec/Sewing or any of the woodwork/tech drawing type stuff.

My best friend, Carmen, and I would spend almost all day together in class, then after school we do stuff (either hockey practice or just general tom foolery) and then when we went our separate ways (we lived across town from each other) we would talk on the phone for hours! God only knows what we would talk about!!!
