But I am useless at spelling so if someone tells me how to spell something properly then I appreciate it, I can't say that I will remember it next time, but I might. I have this little machine on my desk I should use more often that helps me (I used it before for poisonous) | ||||

| penny, blame the keyboard. blame the keyboard! A local favorite sandwich. Sour dough sandwich bun. 8" x 3" x 2"high. All crusty. Slice in half and spread on cream cheese (thick) slather rather than spread, 1/4 inch thick at least. Thin slices of sweet onions. Just to POP the flavor. Alfalfa sprouts, to add volume. Forgot to add the Avacado. Modify to taste. I have seen people add smoked oysters, sardines, steak or even smoked chicken. | ||||
| ||||
| My favourite is the Subway chicken satay, parmesan & oregano bread, smoky cheese, chicken satay, lettuce, tomato and mustard. | ||||
| ||||
| No, this is not subway. This is just something we do around the house. For me, I do not add anything. Just the basics. Not shabby, not shabby at all. My grandkids love Arbys. Are their Arbys in NZ? I think their slices are 1/64 th of an inch. They could serve tendon and it would be chewable. After a swim, the kids love to stop by Arbys for a bag of sandwiches. Just buns and their thin sliced beef. 5 for $6.95. We buy 10. Ed is 13 and could out eat a Tazmanian devil. (and probably the same road kill) | ||||

| I knew it wasn't subway, but I tend to only eat sandwiches (note the spelling) from subway, if I bring my own lunch its either left over dinner or just fruit. We don't have Arby's here. We have had Subway in some areas for quite a while, but now they just seem to be popping up all over NZ in all the small towns along the way as well. I know the one in Pukekohe does really good business. | ||||

| When I worked in Saudi, there was a chain of Wimpy's (hamburgers - I think it might be called mince in New Zealand. Pleease correct my english whenever you find I have gone astray. I would much appreciate it). Anyway these were bad, really bad burgers. But there was no competition. KFC was there. But not the real boomer you might expect. The Saudis eat chicken from the rotisserie. For about $2.50 you got a chicken wrapped in a hob (kind of a flat bread about 12 inches in diameter). Never keep hobs until the second day. Unless you need to replace a tile on the roof. Fresh they are just really fine. Swarm - aha (and I cannot spell that correctly) is rotisseried camel. Strips of meat are placed on a spike. Spike through the middle. And they are layed out like spokes on a wheel until solid and about 12 inched tall on the spike. With a diameter of 10 inches. The spike locks into this cam and gear thing that causes it to turn the meat past butane burners. In a few minutes the outside is finished and shaved into a hot dog or sausage bun and served with hot sauce. Unique taste, not bad. | ||||

| Interesting! The camel thing sounds kinda like how they do the meat for kebabs?(however that is spelt! I don't eat 'em so I don't spose I really care). I heard today on the radio that down in Nelson they are selling possum pie. The meat comes from a special MAF approved plant. But what was funny is how people described the taste.. you got the who it tastes like chicken thing (everything seems to get described like that) , and someone said it tastes like guinea pig.. who on earth has tasted what guinea pig tastes like? | ||||
| ||||
| possum pie? I remember my Uncle telling me about a trip he did down through the North Island when he was younger and he said that to survive the trip they killed and ate possums. They had no money - he said that they were a bit tough but otherwise a decent meal. | ||||
| ||||
| yeah, apprently they have been serving this at place in nelson for a few years or something, I don't know that I would try it. I am not very good at trying new things, but I did try kangeroo once, can't say I liked it. | ||||

| We have possums. We have them in the neighborhood. Wild. And dumb. Sitting down stairs in my office one evening. Writing some C++ and I notice a - what looks like - large rat run through the open door, out of the drizzle. I turn and look to the corner. This 20 pounder has ran for the corner and hid his/her face. Could not see me so I cannot see it. Ours have 80 teeth. All straight like little kitten teeth but bigger. Sharp as all hell. I did not know you had them. We are talking about the marsupial. Right? http://hometown.aol.com/doone63/ (not my possum or my page - just some lady kissing a carrion eater) We also have skunks, racoons and Brown tree rats (latin Ratus Rat) and a couple of feral cats. The rats are not welcome. The others are ok. The skunks are not a problem. There are racoon fights every few days. We have one Rat cat. Stella. Black except for white hair under both front legs and a little bikini bottom on the lower belly. Kind of underarm and crotch affectation. She will see a rat and just walk into it. Never a scratch on Stella. I do not think you could fully slow her head movements with fast film. Wow is she quick. Quote:

| Possums are a pest here. We hate them, we aren't sad if we see them as road kill on the roads. They distroy our native bush and kill the birds. http://nzpossumproducts.co.nz/ is a site with a couple of pictures of our possums. We are in stark contrast to australia where they like possums and they are protected species or endangered or something. I know you get into big trouble if you let your cat kill one. | ||||
| ||||
| No one would care about a dead possum. Yours are cute. Ours are kind of hairless, stink to high heaven and I have no love for them. When one is grabbed by the street sweeper, a truck with wire brissles (sp) and is left dead to rot in the street, I wrap it and put it in the public trash can down by Pizza Hut. | ||||
| ||||
| hahaha, becuase Pizza Hut wont notice the different smell? lol you see theres the difference in how we are brought up.. I was borught up that possums are horrible dirty with possible diseases. I see a possum and don't want to go near it.. possum fur on the other hand is nice, I'd like some possum fur slippers.... they look nice and warm. I went to a wildlife park in australia and the man was holding a possum for everyone to go and pat and go aww how cute.. nope just can't see them being cute at all. | ||||
| ||||
| I was brought up the same way and feel as you do about the things. But ours are not nice and furry. Yours are cute compared to ours. Ours are ugly and not fit for slippers. In the photos on the site I sent. The animal is not shown to have sparse hair with skin blotches. As those I have seen do. | ||||
