Default Thank freakin gosh its FRIDAY

And at the end of the day I get to have a weekend...

UNLESS the weather turns really really crap and they need me to work answering the phones... *sigh*

I hope noone has any plans for the weekend! :P

SEVERE WEATHER WARNING. </b
<b ISSUED BY MetService AT 8:57 am 18-Jun-2004</b
{MEDIA}
HEAVY RAIN AND NORTHERLY GALES OVER THE NORTH ISLAND AND NORTHERN
SOUTH ISLAND TODAY

MetService continues to warn of stormy weather over the North Island
and northern South Island today, with heavy rain and northerly gales
in many areas.

In the South Island, heavy rain is expected about Nelson and northern
Marlborough today, with up to 125mm of rain falling by this evening.
Northerly gales may also affect western parts of Nelson for a time
this afternoon with gusts to 110 km/h.

In the North Island, heavy rain is expected on the Coromandel
Peninsula, Mt Taranaki, the central high country, Bay of Plenty and
the ranges of Gisborne. Heaviest falls are expected on Mt Taranaki
and eastern Bay of Plenty with up to to 150mm falling, while about
100mm is likely elsewhere. Heavy rain is already falling on Mt
Taranaki, and will spread to other areas by this evening. Northerly
gales are also expected in many northern and central areas later
today, and gusts may reach 110 km/h about Taranaki, the central high
country, Bay of Plenty and inland parts of Gisborne and northern
Hawkes Bay for a time today or overnight.

Forecasters advise people in these areas that heavy rain can bring
rapidly rising river and stream levels, while northerly gales could
cause damage to trees and power lines, as well as making driving
conditions difficult.

Sweet.

Good weather for when, for example, you want to fully recode a site to remove all the straggly bits of code and make things tidier.

And it just keeps getting better and better:

SEVERE WEATHER WATCH FOR AUCKLAND
ISSUED BY METSERVICE AT 1030hrs 18-Jun-2004

RISK OF HEAVY RAIN IN AUCKLAND THIS EVENING

MetService continues to watch a front in the Tasman Sea which is
expected to move across Northland and Auckland this evening. Strong
northerly winds and rain associated with the front are affecting
these areas.

There may be a short period of heavy rain with the front as it moves
through Northland and Auckland this evening. At this stage,
forecasters think that the rain in Northland will not be significant,
but could be in Auckland where up to 50mm of rain may fall in a
period as short as 6 hours.

Forecasters have therefore lifted the Heavy Rain Watch for Northland,
but will maintain one for Auckland.

This Watch will be reviewed by 5pm Friday June 2004
Forecast prepared by: John Crouch

The weather wasn't actually as bad as originally thought. I went down to Tauranga for the weekend (my niece's 5th birthday) and the sun actually came out for quite a while on Saturday! Got quite hot there too.

Yeah after Friday night, the sun came out on Saturday and a bit on Sunday, and then poured down Sunday evening *just* as I got out of the car to go food shopping!
