| So decided to have Subway for lunch today. Wanted a roast beef deli sandwich but they'd run out of deli sandwich so I went for a 6 inch sandwich. Asked for beetroot and the asian guy behind the counter didn't know what beetroot was. He had to ask someone who then advised that Subway doesn't have beetroot. What the hell is with that? I think I will go onto their website and ask them why they don't have beetroot. | ||||

| You go to subway all the time and only just wanted beetroot? Its good you are going to mention it becuase if enough people want it then they can get some... It'd be pretty messsy though, I see visions of beetroot juice in the lettuce! | ||||
| ||||
| Yeah, well I usually get the same thing every time. 6 inch chicken satay with smokey cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mustard. But this time I wanted something different and I wanted beetroot on it! | ||||
| ||||
| Hey I have an idea... take your own beetroot in a wee container and give it to them and ask them to add it to your sandwich when they make it ![]() | ||||
| ||||
| Hmmm, strange. The "email us" section on their website doesn't seem to be working. I'll have to try again later. | ||||
| ||||
| one might think they don't want any comments ![]() | ||||
| ||||
| Perhaps they don't. I must say it would be good if their employees spoke and understood English ... when I asked for lettuce he was going to give me pickles. I ended up filling in the "Please tell us what you think" link that goes through to the Subway.com address. So someone in the States is going to get my beetroot query. | ||||

| and my response from Subway .... Dear Ms Sparklechick (name changed for privacy reasons) ![]() Thank you for your enquiry regarding beetroot in the Subway sandwiches. At present we do not have beetroot as our formulas come from the US. We do trial some items from time to time. Maybe we may trial beetroot some time soon. Thanks for your email. We value our customer's feedback. Kind Regards Donna Cargill Operations Manager Subway Developments | ||||

Beetroot is a root vegetable, that we cook and eat. Well most people eat it cold, but its cooked first. The easiest way to get it is to buy it in a can. I personally don't like it. Its red and messy and stains. But I am the only person I know who doesn't like beetroot. http://www.thefreedictionary.com/Beetroot http://homecooking.about.com/cs/vegetables/a/beets.htm | ||||

| All this talk about beetroot is sending me to burgerfuel tonight. It's freakin' delicious. Think pickled vege, but without that sour tang. It goes great with tomato, avocado and pepper on a cracker. | ||||
