| last night was 5-aside soccer night, its a cool comp my company plays in locally with the local soccer club. We played this one team, did not like not winning against us "amatuers" and got really niggly. We eventually lost that game, they played on the next field to us in the next game, and were still niggly and one girl was kicked in the head it bleed allot and went to A & E etc. Then this morning I am told one of our guys drove home and saw the dude that did it being beaten up becuase of it. They'd followed him. I don't know how badly or if they were mostly just giving him a gold ole talking to. But I was thinking, shit.. they shouldn't do that! (Then part of me is thinking good job). To me they should have just reported it to the club and got him given a bit of a talking to, this is meant to be Social Soccer... maybe there is no such thing as social when it comes to sport. :IDunno: | ||||

| man that sucks! can't figure whether retaliation would be my first reaction if the girl that got kicked was a friend of mine but i know it was wrong especially from a group. guess the old cliche` '' two wrongs don't make a right" hold true here. seems to me there should be some disciplinary actions taken all round here. i don't really feel a "good talking too" is good enough for someone who boots another in the head over a game. | ||||

| Yeah I don't know... I spose since they followed him and did whatever away from the grounds etc, it becomes a private matter and would be up to the victim to contact the police, where as the kicking in the head incident should be dealt with by the Soccer association people. Thats my thoughts. BUT the second part should never have happened. BUT in saying that he was a wanker when we were playing him and I sure felt like kicking him in the nuts... you know.."I was going for the ball sir..." hehe | ||||

| Some people even when just playing social sports get far too competitive. I remember playing indoor soccer and the guys got really violent when us girls got the ball past them that they would trip us and them kick the ball really hard toward us ... I ended up with a massive bruise on my back because of it. Not necessary really. It's a shame when a few people spoil it for the rest of the team who are just there to have fun. | ||||

| Theres one team, and they hit the ball way to hard for the small fields and goals, and I refuse to be goalie for them, you should see the bruises I had after just one game... quite happily though I only let in one or two goals. But we complained to the organisers about them, and one team with many young girls swapped allot of players with another team for the game they played against them as their parents considered them too dangerous. (The young girls of course wanted to take them on and beat them haha!) | ||||
